Ceramic Tile Institute of America Inc. (CTIOA) has recently collaborated with the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) and noted artists to implement tile artworks. As the nation’s second largest and most complex transportation agency, Metro seeks to improve mobility and the quality of life throughout the entire Los Angeles region. The Metro Art program is part of this endeavor and has commissioned over 200 artists for a wide variety of projects within the Metro transit system.
